-The Office-

Both Amanda and Will turned on their flashlights, as it was pitch black in the room they just entered.

“What happened here?” Will asked as he looked around. The walls were scorched and burnt, like a storm of fire had raged through the place ages ago. Amanda brushed some dust off a computer screen and saw it was still on…. somehow. She made a small whistle noise to alert Will.

“What is it?” he responded.

Amanda looked at the screen again; Will walked over to her and looked at it as well.

“Yes!” he said. “Now perhaps I can get a map of this place and see where we need to go.”

Amanda stepped away from the monitor as Will began typing things into the keyboard.

She decided to look around the office while Will was busy with the computer. She traced the light of her flashlight around the room and saw markings all over it. Upon closer inspection, it seemed almost like claw marks. She traced her hand over it before she saw something out of the corner of her eye. she quickly turned around and her flashlight was pointed at another wall that had written in big letters on it:

HE KNOWS!

Amanda walked backwards towards Will while still pointing her light at the wall. She tapped Will’s shoulder and he looked at her.

“What is it”?

Amanda simply pointed at the wall ahead of her. Will’s optic widened as he looked at the writing. “Okay… I think we need to be careful around here; you never know who or what is still in this place.” He looked at Amanda, who simply nodded with a concerned look on her face. “I managed to piece together a map of these old offices,” continued Will, “so getting through here should be a little bit easier.” Amanda nodded and walked towards a door on the other end of the room. Will followed her as she walked inside.

On the other side was a hallway with doors leading to many other office blocks. “We have to go to the end of the hallway and down a set of stairs,” Will said.

Amanda followed these directions as Will walked past her towards the stairwell. “Uhm... this might be a problem,” Will said while looking down the stairwell. Amanda looked confused and walked over to Will, looking down too. The stairs ended about 2 floors down and beneath that was a mangled test chamber. “Wow…” Will whispered. “They really did throw everything down here that was useless to the upper levels of the facility.”

“We do need to get through there somehow, luckily you got your portal gun”. Amanda looked a bit frustrated at Will. “let’s move then” will said as he began walking downstairs. Amanda shortly followed until they reached the end of the stairs.

Will was looking down into the test chamber before turning around to face Amanda. “I will see if i can get this door open, just stand back” Will pointed at a door next to the stairs they were just on. Amanda nodded as she looked at Will and took several steps back. But her weight shatterd the metal plates of the stairwell and she fell down into the test chamber luckil, landing on her Long Fall boots. She looked back up and saw will. “Are you alright?!” Will yelled at her. Amanda got up and nodded at Will. He responded by looking worried, “i cannot follow you down there, as an Aperture science AI not made for testing i could break down if i even set foot in that chamber. We will have to part ways for a minute okay?” he spoke. Amanda simply gave him a thumbs up as he disappeared out of sight. “See you up ahead” he yelled down at her.

Amanda looked at the chamber she was in, it seemed it was just a simple button/ cube based puzzle. She walked over to the cube, picked it up and walked to the button. This proved to be a small challenge as the chamber was tilted at an angle. She placed the cube on the button but nothing happened. “weird” she thought. Then she got a message on her headset as it appeared on the display. It told her that the button was broken and needed to be recalibrated. She kneeled down at the button and used her Aspard to fix it.

The door opened as the cube pressed down on the button. Amanda walked through the door and entered the next room, which appeared to be an elevator room without the elevator. Instead there was a concrete corridor like the ones in the office above. She decided to walk through to the other end to see if there was a way up.

The hallway was at an angle, just as the previous test chamber. Amanda wondered why all these places were thrown away or abandoned. She just shrug that thought off her shoulders as she realized she was wasting her time thinking about it. Now all she had to do was complete another mission and go back to sleep. She arrived in another test chamber and looked for a way out. Just as the other chamber from before, this one was pretty easy. She quickly solved it and stepped into the opened door. This time there was an elevator there and she stepped inside as it went up.

While in the elevator Will contacted Amanda again, “hey! I can see on my sensors that you found a way to the exit. I will come to you, just stay there and you will see me arriving shortly”. The elevator shortly stopped and stepped into the newly opened hallway. Amanda walked to the other side when she heard a rumbling noise in a room to the right. Before she could open it to check what it was, the door swung open and Will ran out. “close it!”, he yelled. Both Will and Amanda closed the door quickly, briefly after Amanda felt the door shake and heard a sound resembling an explosion. “There was an old rocket turret installed there, I had to run past it” will exclaimed. He stood up and walked to the door opposite of the elevator on the other end of the hallway.

Amanda followed and looked at Will in a concerned way. Will saw the look on her face and reassured her that he was okay. Amanda nodded still questioning his current state, but that didn’t matter as she saw that the door Will opened led to a large room with a lot of machinery in it.”It seem we are underneath the station for the cable car” Will exclaimed as he looked around. He walked to a small cargo lift nearby as Amanda went and looked at another control panel mounted on the wall. “could you start this lift so we can get up?”, Amanda nodded as she activated the terminal. Several lights turned on and the buttons on the lift began to light up. “thank you” Will said. Will stood on the lift and Amanda followed, She pressed the button and they went up. As they reached the top a cable car came in vision of them both. It was suspended from steel wires above a platform. Amanda walked around it looking for a way to enter. The cart had a faded and aged white and orange color scheme with the Aperture logo plastered onto both sides. As her flashlight moved over it she noticed something from the corner of her eye and pointed the flashlight at it. On the floor of the station lay the body of an older model party escort bot.

Amanda looked at it shocked, she did not expect to find this here. Will walked around the cart too and stood next to Amanda looking at the body. “Well what have we here”? Will crouched down next to the body and looked at it. “what happened to you”? will said as he pulled a cable from his arm and connected it to the head of the fallen robot. “I will see if  can recover his black box footage, I will stream it to your headset too” Will exclaimed towards Amanda. She simply nodded and put her portal gun on the floor and turned on her display. “here goes nothing” Will said as he activated the black box inside the robot.
